This immersion blender is with our testers and these are our initial thoughtsĪt Homes & Gardens, we put a lot of thought into how we test, and for our best immersion blender guide we decided to bring our candidates into our testing facility and compare them side-by-side. In testing our one gripe was the safety lock, which certainly keeps the immersion blender a lot safer, but needs to be re-activated even if you momentarily take your finger off the trigger. The freedom of cordless immersion blenders is something you'll never realize you needed, but it means you can move around your entire kitchen and even blend your soups directly in the pot you cooked them in, with far easier cleaning after, too. The 30oz blending cup is large enough to make a morning smoothie, and it has a 20-minute runtime with only 2 hours of charging time. It's surprisingly well priced given its premium looks and powerful lithium-ion motor. When we used it to make soup the blender didn't give us the smoothest consistency overall, but it handled a variety of ingredients very well and was one of the fastest to reach stiff peaks when we used the whisk attachment on egg whites. However, you can make soup from already cooked ingredients.Trigger control can make it hard to keep consistent speed The blades are not designed to generate enough friction for this, and there is no heating mechanism applied. You can make nut milk or butter with the blender, too, but it doesn’t mill flour from the nut or grains fine enough to the baking standard.īecause of the limitations in the accessories, the Cuisinart Hurricane CBT-1500 blender cannot perform some tasks like making instant hot soup from scratch. The blender is also great for food prep, making some bread crumbs, or chopping vegetables for dressings. The blender is not so good with thick mixtures, so you won’t be able to mash potatoes or any creamy ingredients, or you might end up with a mess. It can make great purees with cooked, hot, or raw ingredients, but you need to add a consistent amount of liquid to the mix. It is a good option for frozen treats and desserts. It can crush ice and process frozen ingredients. The blender makes silky smoothies with soft, hard, and fibrous ingredients, but the mixture won’t be as smooth if you add some nuts and seeds. Even if they lack of some accessories may limit its performance, the blender itself is limited to some tasks, and it can only perform those tasks properly. Unfortunately, it cannot perform some tasks appropriately, and it cannot perform some other ones at all. With its powerful motor, the Cuisinart Hurricane CBT-1500 blender excels at some heavy-duty tasks, but not all.
